A jewel thief (Burt Reynolds) humors a chic kleptomaniac (Lesley-Anne Down) planted by a Scotland Yard inspector (David Niven) to lure him into a trap. The two sophisticated jewel thieves join forces to steal $30 million in uncut jewels. Despite a continuous exchange of quips they eventually become romantically involved.
